Fifty-six years in banking makes for an interesting legacy, and Mr. Michie has experienced it all, developing the flexibility required to adjust as regulations change and consumers’ needs shift. Today, Mr. Michie serves as Chairman of the Board for both First State Bank & Trust Co., Inc. and the bank’s holding company, First State Bancorp, Inc.

Gordon has more than 35 years of experience in community bank management, real estate lending, commercial lending and loan portfolio management. He served as President/CEO of First State Bank & Trust Co., Inc. from 2004 to 2018. His insights and leadership help First State Bank & Trust Co., Inc. excel in a range of areas, including technology and financial performance.

Doesn’t tell the story of his importance of his overall authority. For 10 years, Matt has been a familiar face at the Sikeston branch, most recently serving as Community Bank President. His top values include community outreach and company growth. He grew up in Sikeston, Mo., and still calls the area home. He graduated from Missouri State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in finance in 2003 and also attended Louisiana State University’s Graduate School of Banking. Matt is well-versed in First State Bank & Trust Co., Inc.’s daily operations, having been employed at the Sikeston branch since October 2007, first as Vice President then Community Bank President.

With nearly 20 years of experience, Sara oversees a host of branches at First State Bank & Trust Co., Inc. She brings a wealth of knowledge thanks to her degree in finance from Southeast Missouri State University and her time spent completing the ABA Stonier Graduate Banking School program. She is an active community member, participating in her children’s school booster club and attending church programs regularly.

Zach serves the Sikeston and Dexter areas. Before his work at First State Bank & Trust Co., Inc., he worked as a Bank Regulator at the Office of Comptroller of the Currency (OCC), then joined First State Bank & Trust Co., Inc. as Vice President/Commercial Loan Officer. He received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Missouri in 2008 and graduated from the Louisiana State University Graduate School of Banking in 2014.

Kyle has more than 10 years of local banking experience. In 2016 he was promoted to Community Bank President, where he continues to happily serve his customers. He is currently attending the Graduate School of Banking in Baton Rouge, La. He has served on several boards and local community organizations in the area and continues to enjoy living in his hometown and helping it grow.

A native of the community, Trey empowers customers to embrace new opportunities. He has served as a Commercial Loan Officer and Vice President at the Caruthersville branch since February 2016. But now – he’s community bank president. He holds a bachelor’s degree in agricultural engineering, technology and business with an emphasis in enterprise management from Mississippi State University. He also completed the Southeastern School of Banking at Vanderbilt University and the Graduate School of Banking at Louisiana State University.

Nick has been with First State Bank & Trust Co., Inc. for more than 10 years, filling a variety of positions, from operations to lending to Internal Staff Auditor to Community Bank President. He still has an important role within our lending team. Growing up in Hayti, he knows firsthand the challenges and values of Southeast Missourians.
