In his role as Chairman of the Board/CEO, Matthew is leading First State Bank & Trust Co. in our mission of building relationships and delivering financial solutions through exceptional service. His extensive banking experience – including a decade at our Sikeston, Mo. branch where he previously served as Community Bank President – cemented his dedication to helping individuals and communities achieve financial success. Matthew graduated from Missouri State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in finance. He also attended Louisiana State University’s Graduate School of Banking.

With nearly 20 years of experience, Sara oversees a host of branches at First State Bank & Trust Co., Inc. She brings a wealth of knowledge thanks to her degree in finance from Southeast Missouri State University and her time spent completing the ABA Stonier Graduate Banking School program. She is an active community member, participating in her children’s school booster club and attending church programs regularly.

Zach serves the Sikeston and Dexter areas. Before his work at First State Bank & Trust Co., Inc., he worked as a Bank Regulator at the Office of Comptroller of the Currency (OCC), then joined First State Bank & Trust Co., Inc. as Vice President/Commercial Loan Officer. He received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Missouri in 2008 and graduated from the Louisiana State University Graduate School of Banking in 2014.

A native of the community, Trey empowers customers to embrace new opportunities. He has served as a Commercial Loan Officer and Vice President at the Caruthersville branch since February 2016. He now serves as South Market President. He holds a bachelor’s degree in agricultural engineering, technology and business with an emphasis in enterprise management from Mississippi State University. He also completed the Southeastern School of Banking at Vanderbilt University and the Graduate School of Banking at Louisiana State University.

Showing extreme dexterity within the banking industry at an early age, Kay Watkins’ versatility and tenacity have never relented. Beginning her career as a teller, she worked her way through various departments, gaining an intuitive understanding of internal processes and the leadership required to move FSBT and our clients forward.

David Gelsheimer is a 40-year Bootheel native with an extreme interest in watching companies grow and excel. In his role, he helps business owners choose how best to expand operations, add space or enhance productivity through loans.
